Digital Print Closed Door Production Center - Production Lead, Order Processing, and Shipping

Position Summary:  The DPF Lead is responsible for ensuring that the production team (including themselves) is providing all customers with high quality copy and print orders.  Utilizing large scale equipment, must multi-task to deliver their work on time, by meeting and exceeding customer service standards and executing the Production Center Workflow and Quality Assurance Process.  The Lead demonstrates proficiency in coordinating & prioritizing all aspects of the production process.
Role Qualifications:
Customer Service
  • Point person for DPF Manager and COA Liason regarding all jobs being produced in the closed door print facility
  • Professionally communicates with the COA Team or DPF Manager, the sales team and other production leads or management to provide information on production status
  • Oversees the quality process of all jobs before, during and post production
  • Answer phones, respond to customer inquiries and/or accept and transfer correspondence to appropriate parties;  Follows up with customers with questions regarding production


Digital Print Production:
  • Receive and review job tickets into production. Utilize job bags and visual management system to place jobs into production workflow.
  • Validate availability of supplies needed and/or notify AGM if supplies are not available.
  • Update job status in Production Management / Job Ticketing Systems
  • Follows production workflow to produce high volumes of work, using high end digital printer/copier equipment; Operates a variety of finishing equipment including cutters, drills and bindery
  • Effectively prepares and troubleshoot various files formats and change to PDF print-ready status
  • Responsible for the insuring that all work produced is in accordance with the job ticket and customer’s quality expectations
  • Run orders on time while maximizing the machines productivity
  • Follow policies & procedures; Ensure a clean and organized facility; Follow safety precautions
  • Utilizes production tools to monitor progress of production, confers with production center personnel; Maintains log of projects in production and updates this log daily to reflect current project
  • Contracts services with outside vendors through the proper channels, and alters production schedule and job order to expedite timely processing of projects in accordance with the customers’ requirements and Staples production center standards.



Basic Qualifications
  • 2-4 years experience in a Digital Copy & Print or Manufacturing environment;
  • 1-2 years leading a team
  • Attention to detail a must; Sound organizational skills
  • Experience managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to read & interpret instructions, identify problems/missing information and address them proactively
  • Computer Skills:  Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite, Publisher.
  • Experience with Print Order Processing software.
