Position Summary:
The Circulation & Database Marketing Specialist is responsible for selecting circulation for print, web and email customer contacts, based on criteria given by Market Managers as business owners. This role requires collaboration with the Marketing Team for managing processes of campaign execution and is responsible for accurate and timely implementation. CMS/ACT programs, reporting software, and other selected software tools are used to code and execute complex relational database queries. In addition, the Circulation & Database Marketing Specialist will build campaigns based on select forms or email/web page mockups that include versions, tests, rules and customer segmentation. Further the role is responsible for validating and auditing rules to ensure accurate and timely execution of campaigns while providing guidance and education to the marketers to ensure optimization of the contacts plan. Finally, the customer database will be maintained, ensuring that the customer and prospect base are accurate and up to date.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Use Quill proprietary systems for domestic marketing efforts such as direct mail print, email, and web for customer development and acquisition programs
  • Works closely with the online marketing team to understand the daily email plans so that the execution of the CMS programming for all email segmentation / offers modules are programmed accurately and timely
  • Assist the marketers with making selection criteria decisions based on knowledge of database and the marketing strategies
  • Conduct and validate pre-count audits. Troubleshoot issues to ensure timely resolution with both internal and external partners
  • Develop data audits to validate data quality. Perform data queries and analysis of database. SIC Coding/Formatting, database hygiene cleanup, investigation of potential duplicate accounts/sites, appending missing data, and updating customer contact information
  • Participates in circulation planning to develop select criteria, assuring the effort is produced according to Business Owner specifications
  • Coordinates the work flow between Quill Circulation, Quill I/S and printers for mailing efforts


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
  • 1-2 years of marketing experience

  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and Access
