What is the Staples Associate Referral Program?
A program that allows current Staples associates to refer anyone for a specific role or to our database for future
opportunities. If you have a professional connection, friend or family member that would be a great fit with our
culture and values, we encourage you to sponsor them for one of many career opportunities available at Staples.
How do I refer someone?
Sponsoring a referral is easy. If you are a first-time user, please sign up for the Referral Sponsor Portal. Once
logged in, you can search Staples jobs and start making referrals. All referrals must be submitted via the Referral
Sponsor Portal prior to offer stage.
What if I don't see a job opening that is a good fit for my referral?
If you don't see any jobs that are a good for your network, please check back as we post new jobs daily. You can
also refer your contact to a "general job" with Staples and they will be notified when a position most relevant to
them becomes available.
Is there a limit on how many people I can refer?
No. Referrals are one of the best ways for Staples to identify great associates.
How will I know the potential referral bonus amount?
The expected referral amount is noted in the Associate Referral Bonus field of each job opening. Referral bonus
amounts vary by role.
What if the job does not offer a referral bonus?
If there is no bonus, then you will be eligible for a $500 Cash Raffle. Two winners will be selected each month!
Will I be taxed on my referral bonus or cash raffle?
Yes, all appropriate taxes will be deducted at the time of the pay-out.
When will I receive my referral bonus?
All referral bonuses will be processed 1-2 paychecks after the referred associate completes 90 days with the company
(only exception is US Retail General Managers pay-out in 1-2 paychecks after the 30 days). To be eligible for the
referral bonus, both the sponsor and referred associate need to be active employees on the actual payout date.
Who is eligible for a referral bonus pay-out?
Staples full-time and part-time associates are eligible for a referral bonus. Some restrictions may apply due to
employee’s involvement in the recruiting process.
Referral bonuses will not be paid in the following situations:
Former Staples (or any subsidiaries) associates, temps/contractors re-hired within 12 months.
Temps/contractors converting from a temporary position to permanent.
Referrals hired after 6 months from submission date.
Associates promoted to a new position or any internal movement.
