Job Summary:

Works within all phases of the sales cycle, pre and post to support the “Everyday Sales and Ink and Toner” efforts at Staples throughout specific sales Regions.  Works directly with Staples sales and operational teams to identify and close sales opportunities, as well as provide program and resource support.  This includes customer facing sales visits with Staples Territory Account Manager/Key Account Manager resources


Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic role to drive the most profitable technology business in the portfolio
  • Efforts will be directly tied to EBIDTA growth for the business
  • Entire Region focus across 60+ sellers to sell and program management all aspects of EDT and Ink and Toner
  • Responsible for evaluating key success factors and initiating appropriate changes to meet and exceed budget targets by region
  • Responsible for coaching Key Account Managers and Territory Account Managers on selling and properly positioning ink and toner and Everyday Technology products and services
  • Will provide direct input to senior leaders on learnings that will drive strategic direction for the categories
  • Document work performed in each of the foregoing areas and package this proof of performance for submission to Regional Sales Director of Technology on a quarterly basis
  • Contribute insights to sales leadership to assist in the creation of the technology strategy
  • Assist in the roll-out of commercial plan activities
  • Report on regional activity aligned to technology sales and commercial plan execution
  • Assist Staples sales teams with deal registration process on qualified opportunities
  • Assist Staples sellers by recommending the appropriate product and product line, providing roadmap guidance, marketing info etc.
  • Be the Staples sellers’ window into General Tech Sales on the StaplesAdvantage.com platform. 
  • Strive towards excellence in providing the best CX (Customer Experience) for the Staples sellers and the client they cooperatively served together  
  • Proactive engagement of partner sales reps based on Regional needs and on sales analytics
  • Be able to stand in front of an audience and present the Staples value statement
  • Be able to facilitate onsite sales calls with Staples sellers
  • Provide high-level weekly updates on the state of the business
  • Understand and be able to describe the Staples organizational structure
  • Sales lead development and follow up – educate and guide Staples sellers
  • Participate and contribute in weekly team calls (pipeline, cadence, touchpoints, etc.)
  • Coordinate and participate in partner visits and events, vendor floor days, lunch and learns, planning sessions, etc. as required
  • Share point of view to help develop account plans and territory mapping to understand profile and actions to develop business
  • Maintain a detailed level of communication with field Sales Teams



  • High school diploma
  • 5 Years of Sales or Operational Experience with Technology Products
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Sales Skills
  • Technical Skills (Vast Product Knowledge I.T.)
  • Microsoft Tools
  • Bachelor’s degree recommended
