Position Summary:
Perform maintenance on conveyors, electrical motors, photo eyes, gear reducers,
roller and belted conveyor sections, diverts, pneumatics, solenoids, man-lift,
hand tools, power tools, electrical test equipment and ladders. Working on
voltages from 24 volts AC to 480 volts 3 phase following Lock Out / Tag Out
Safety protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conveyor
and or industrial, military experience with mechanical and or electrical
equipment and basic knowledge of safe work practices.
- Conveyor
experience to encompass some knowledge of; motors, gear
reducers, diverts, roller and belted conveyor, photo eyes, pneumatics,
Programmable Logic Controllers, and troubleshooting skills.
- Perform preventative and spontaneous (basic) maintenance on
batteries
- Perform preventative and spontaneous maintenance on conveyors
- Perform general building maintenance including overhead
doors, construction repair, roll carts, floor repair and second level
gates, doors, etc.
- Performs light plumbing maintenance on occasion
- Perform various (basic) carpentry assignments as needed
- Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet
- Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with
fellow associates in a cooperative, constructive manner
- Relay direction from supervisor to junior technicians and
assistants
- Use initiative to ensure efficient assignments of junior
technicians/assistants to projects/tasks
- Order needed repair parts for equipment with supervisors’
approval
- Put safety first in everything they do and in accordance with
Staples safety policies
- Knowledge
of and the ability to identify basic hand and power tools.
Equipment Used:
- All material handling equipment (MHE) used in the Fulfillment
Center, including forklift, pallet jack, reach lift, boom lift, and order
picker
