Software Engineer III – CICD and Release Engineering

Position Summary:
We are looking for a Software Engineer III to join our CICD and Release Engineering Team.  The ideal candidate will have Azure Cloud experience and will help develop state of the art CICD and release automation framework and tools for migrating eCommerce applications to the cloud.  

  • Act as an CICD and Automation Framework lead to contribute to architect, develop ecommerce CICD and Automation framework development by adopting Microservices in the global Ecommerce platform.
  • Conceptualize, architect and develop tools for migration and support to Public Cloud, specifically Azure. 
  • Work in an agile environment and participate in conceptualizing and implementing platform features for our global web properties.
  • Provide leadership for product initiatives, recommend improvements, mentor and review peers' work.
  • Work with engineers and other cross functional teams like Product Management, DevOps, Release Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Quality Assurance and Operations teams to build a self-service automation framework
  • Develop innovative solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles
  • Develop industry and product technical expertise by following and championing development best practices
  • Provide design directives to other software engineers, including how to construct and integrate software components in order to meet all functional and non-functional requirements.


Basic Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience on Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer
  • Experience Jenkins 2.0 with integration with various plugins for both desktop and mobile applications.
  • Java, C++, Python, Groovy, Apache, Tomcat experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience on hardware, OS, platform confirmation and data modeling
  • General knowledge of Spring and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Security)., N-tier application support, SQL DB support.
  • General knowledge of NoSQL data store technologies and polyglot persistence (Mongo, Couchbase, Cassandra, etc..).
  • General exposure to Java 8 and RxJava
  • Proficiency in design patterns.
  • Experience with computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms
  • General knowledge of distributed systems architecture and cloud technologies.
  • General knowledge of Domain Driven Design concepts and Microservices.
  • General understanding of application security standards and best practices.
  • General knowledge of software operationalization, performance tuning, threading and modularization.

Preferred Skills:

  • General knowledge and experience of  Microservices
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with the Netflix OSS stack (Eureka, Zuul, Ribbon, Hystrix).
  • Experience building e-commerce CICD  using off-the-shelf and open source frameworks.
  • Experience in agile methodologies.
