The SKU Operations Specialist is responsible for execution of all processes & tasks associated with item setup & maintenance, including but not limited to:  cost updates, reinstates, discontinued, re-stock & de-stock, content, attribute, specifications, taxonomy, Mix & Match, Family of Products, web hierarchies, QA & other duties as assigned. Works closely with the Category Selling team to gather necessary data for new item builds & executes the building of those items to the Category Selling Manager’s specifications and timelines. 

Primary Responsibilities


  • This associate will also work directly with Quill’s merchandising, inventory planning, information system & customer relations teams, as well as counterparts within Staples
  • The ideal candidate will have great organization skills, an ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and will be expected to maintain and improve upon daily processes when needed. 
  • Execute large scale product builds (Mass Sku Loads and Supplier Loads) into product database including taxonomy, product setup, attributes
  • Execute detailed review of the batches to ensure all vital information is provided by Staples/Vendor for complete setup Review content, images and other information required for product set up
  • Manage SKU cost discrepancies & ensuring vendor alignment
  • Customer relationship management & service delivery with Category Selling Managers/Product Managers (merchandising), External vendors, customer relations, specifically the DSS teams, CR Help Desk, inventory planning & Staples Merch Ops team
  • Daily interaction with Staples’ counterparts to ensure item issues are resolved to prevent customer backorders
  • Ensure quality control and post go live quality checks
  • Revise & improve business processes when needed


Basic Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong organizational skills
  • 1 – 2 yrs data entry experience
  • 2+ yrs Online Merchandising experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with a strong focus on proactive problem solving & process improvement skills to resolve issues & provide a voice for system & process enhancements
  • Accurate & timely implementation of all responsibilities to support desired growth, sale & customer satisfaction goals
  • Successful management of multiple projects in diverse areas of responsibilities that meet or exceed deadlines
  • Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • MS Access
  • Adobe Photoshop
