This position will be based out of our Fulfillment Centre at 50 Washburn Drive, Kitchener ON, N2R 1S2

Job Summary:

Performs various furniture service duties including: delivery, assembly, installation, repair and service of warranty and non-warranty office furniture. Takes direction from Furniture Install Lead and reports to Manager, Furniture Warehouse or Manager, Furniture Operations

Primary Responsibilities:

• Loads furniture orders efficiently and safely onto truck and delivers product to customer

• Verifies orders to paperwork prior to loading

• Drives to customer location and completes furniture assembly/installation as per installation specifications to meet customer satisfaction. Ensures customer’s furniture orders are installed and assembled accurately and in a timely fashion. Inspects furniture for proper operability according to manufacturer’s guidelines

• Installs all types of free-standing furniture, panel and modular systems. This includes placement, leveling, wipe-down, touch-up of metal and wood furniture, clean up and removal of garbage at customer location

• Addresses and resolves customers’ problems as appropriate and reports to supervisor or project coordinator

• Efficient turn-around on all furniture repair service calls. Completes all required furniture service/repair paperwork (warranty or non-warranty)

• Instrumental in ensuring deficiencies and repairs are documented and completed in a timely manner

• Reports errors, recommends/implements corrective action and works closely with project coordinators for successful project completion/resolution

• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle and performs daily checklist and reports any maintenance problems to supervisor

• Unloads incoming furniture trucks using warehouse equipment

• Flexible to assist Furniture Delivery Drivers on route deliveries or furniture warehouse based on workload in operations and as back up for vacation/absences, as determined by supervisor

• Flexible to work overtime and weekends to accommodate project completion

• Participates in all scheduled physical inventories

• Follows all safety procedures in the performance to job duties

Knowledge / Skill Requirements:

• Class G Drivers License with maximum 2 demerits

• Experience in operating vehicles ranging from passenger vans to 5-ton trucks

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to read construction blueprints and CAD installation drawings

• Demonstrated competence related to writing installation project and problem reports

• Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form

• Good organizational skills

• Knowledgeable in the operation of warehouse equipment and lightweight tools (i.e., use of a pallet jack, dolly to move furniture; and lightweight power tools to install and/or repair furniture)

• Excellent customer service skills, conducting customer contact in a professional and courteous manner

• Must have a valid driver’s license; be at least 21 years of age; have a good driving record; be physically qualified to drive

• Good knowledge of metro area

• Prefer experience driving lightweight trucks

• Prior experience with hand truck/dolly type equipment. On-the-job training for pallet jack will be provided

The employee must frequently lift, move, and/or carry between 70 to 100 pounds. With mechanical assistance, employee will occasionally move up to 300 pounds. Employee will regularly drive a delivery truck and must be able to enter and exit the truck throughout the day. Employee will regularly operate warehouse equipment that requires manual dexterity and use of lightweight power tools requiring coordinated movements. Activities include using a pallet jack to move furniture; and lightweight power and manual tools to assemble, install or repair furniture.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly operates warehouse equipment and lightweight tools. Using proper safety procedures will eliminate any potential hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.



• A minimum of one (1) year experience assembling and servicing furniture required. A minimum of one (1) year experience driving a delivery truck also required

• Experience using hand and electrical tools to assemble furniture


• Minimum high school diploma required
