Role Summary

Our contract business is the growth engine of Staples, and Site Account Managers play a vital role in unlocking customer potential. This role is newly designed for our future business strategy. If you are excited by driving cutting-edge sales initiatives, this role is for you. Site Account Managers are responsible for increasing sales of existing and new sites with complex and high touch Staples customers. Upon engaging with existing customers, the Site Account Manager is tasked with driving new and expanded sales. If you like to problem solve, discover opportunities and team sell all in the name of increasing sales, Site Account Management is your new career.

 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Customer focused & engaging – Is thoughtful on how they approach each customer.
  • Displays professional and friendly attributes.
  • Selling skills – Seeks to uncover why a customer has not purchased or stopped buying, then uses selling skills to expand purchases.
  • Communication – Effective phone presence. Ongoing dialogue with account managers as well as regional peers. Salesforce.com is up to date.
  • Organization and time management – Has plan in place to achieve sales goals.
  • Independently prioritizes work, keeps records up to date and completes work on time.

 


Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability and interest to build relationships and sell to customers over the phone

 

Preferred

  • At least 1-year of successful sales experience and/or higher education sales training
  • College degree preferred
  • Ability to articulately sell company values and services, program features & benefits via phone and internet
  • Proven self-starter with energy and motivation to uncover, develop and close sales
  • Must be result-oriented and driven by both financial and career opportunities
  • Demonstrated strong time management skills
  • Knowledge of product, pricing, competition and sales objectives
  • Ability to sell to multiple buyer levels within small to large-sized customers
