Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for significantly growing Staples Facility Solutions Healthcare business in assigned region/geography. Responsibilities include: representing Staples Facility Solutions interests with the major healthcare IDN’s, GPO’s, our Staples Healthcare team. manufacturers and serving as a subject matter expert for selling within the GPO/IDN framework. This position will also support the field sales organizations by making select end user presentations and ensuring that programs are implemented and supported properly.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and build relationships with the assigned major IDN’s and GPO’s:
    • Gain contractual acceptance of our product offering with key GPO’s        
    • Build and maintain relationships with Staples Healthcare team.
    • Position JanSan/EVS as key component of Staples Healthcare team’s growth strategy
    • Assist in JanSan/EVS solution development of healthcare opportunities
    • When needed, engage with current IDN’s on major EVS opportunities.
    • Drive sales growth of JanSan/EVS spend in healthcare business            
  • Serve as GPO contractual requirements subject matter expert: 
    • Serve as point person for selling JanSan/EVS within the GPO framework
    • Attend, create and deliver end user presentations          
  • Engage and support Facility Solutions Team: 
    • Attend Facility Solutions staff meetings to learn new product information, marketing information and procedures
    • Attend/participate in FS Monthly team meetings to share best practices and educate team on changes within Healthcare industry
    • Establish and maintain strong relationship with Staples Field Sales Directors, Regional Sales Directors, Key Account Managers, Account Executives, Territory Account Managers and Business Development Executives in assigned territory.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key vendor/mfg. partners

  • Minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience
  • Healthcare experience including acute-care and non-acute purchasing processes including GPO’s and IDN’s.
    • Or JanSan/EVS industry or related industry experience
  • Experience in sales cycle with prospects over $100K in annual volume.
  • Proven ability to sell in a team atmosphere
  • Resourcefulness that demonstrates independent working capabilities
  • Strong presentation/platform skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated analytical, negotiating and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter, detailed and results orientated
  • Strong time management, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting internal and external agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Must be able to travel as needed - expected travel within region to be 20-35%
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and CRM tool
  • Detail and results orientated
  • Having ‘both’ Healthcare and JanSan/EVS experience as described above.
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of healthcare purchasing processes, from a local, IDN and GPO level
  • Complete understanding of the JanSan/EVS product categories.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University
  • Proficient in SalesForce.com
