Position Summary:

Ecommerce and Digital Analytics Manager who can utilize their business, problem solving, and data mining skills to develop key strategic quantitative analysis for the Quill.com team. Analysis will generally be complex in nature, where large volumes of data are synthesized into actionable recommendations using SQL tools, analysis software, Web Analytic Tools (e.g. Omniture Site Catalyst) and various analytical techniques. In addition to delivering new business insights through execution of analytic projects, this role will be responsible for providing ongoing strategic guidance and recommendations to the Quill.com leadership team. Scope of responsibility for this position includes analytics on the Quill.com website and the following channels: Paid Search, Affiliate, SEO, Display Advertising and Social Media channels.



Primary Responsibilities:


  • Focus for this role is on site performance of Quill.com and digital search vehicle support- SEO/Natural Search, SEM/Paid Search, Product Listing Ads (PLAs), Comparison Shopping Engines (CSEs), Affiliate Marketing, and Display/Retargeting. 

  • Manage analytical process to effectively deliver timely, insightful and actionable analyses in support of marketing teams. Interface with internal clients to understand requests, prioritize, and set deadlines. Deliver high-quality analysis on time and within budget.

  • Lead the on-going development and support of Quill’s Marketing data model.  

  • Leverage data processing software (Alteryx) to automate the aggregation of various vendor data sources into a master Marketing database and blend the data using a reporting visualization platform (Power BI).  Responsibilities will include data model development (40%), vehicle reporting (30%), and communicating marketing insights (30%).

  • Apply analytics techniques to augment existing data sources and design creative, innovate solutions for budget management, goal-setting, and testing.

  • Guide marketing partners to deliver a superior customer experience through campaign optimization.

  • Guide Ecommerce partners on site performance and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience conducting highly quantitative analytics

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in advanced SQL with a strong understanding of data warehouse architecture

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience designing analytic solutions

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience managing marketing vehicle roadmaps

  • Superior knowledge of advanced Excel techniques

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, etc.

  • Knowledge of web analytics packages; Omniture Site Catalyst, Google Analytics, etc.




  • Knowledge of various data mining techniques to generate business insight

  • Experience with SAS, SPSS, R or other Statistical Coding Package

  • Experience with data manipulation tools a plus (Python, Alteryx, Visual Basic, R)

  • Internet marketing experience; knowledge of Search Engine Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, affiliate networks, shopping sites, email, as well as standard industry practices
