Position Summary:
The Product Manager of Loyalty & Membership will join a growing Digital team tasked with planning, managing and operating the Staples.com and Staples Advantage websites; focused on accelerating mid-market growth while preserving the established revenue streams. This person will be responsible for defining new customer experiences that break down barriers of friction, accelerate engagement and re-purchase, digital enrollments, and uplift tooling, reporting and solution selling.

This person will build a strategy that connect the current state of the business to the company’s Digital Vision, and execute on an iterative cadence.

This Product Manager will drive the product vision, build a strategy that connects the current state of the business to the desired state, and executes on an iterative cadence. This will require internal collaboration, external collaboration, and cross-functional partnership with key stakeholders. This person will take ownership of their respective roadmap initiatives, deliver new product features that create value, and communicate the status and success of these accomplishments on a regular basis. A deep understanding of current customer trends, existing problems, and defining areas of opportunity are crucial to the success of this role. Data analysis and interpretation of metrics will be part of the regular cadence, and play an intricate role in defining the short and long-term roadmap. The purpose of this role is to bring world-class e-commerce expertise to the online businesses, drive an increase in profitability, reduce the consumer adoption curve, and creatively take the Staples shopping experience everywhere commerce exists.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Strategy Creation:
o Co-Create the strategy vision and execution of your product domain, in partnership with business and product leadership
o Understand the broader business, market and customer context – to inform strategy
o Represent your strategy as a series of milestones on a roadmap

• Solution Creation
o Work across the business, UX, engineer and customer research to determine viable, optimized, agile solutions
Utilize creativity to determine a range of options to converge on the best approach, and break-through into the most efficient and effective solutions
o Minimize blink-spots by technical constrains and edge cases
o Collaborate with UX team, and bring affinity with customer into the experience
o Document clear requirements that address all customer and/or business use cases
o Leverage analytical skills in decision making
o Bring domain expertise to the solution (industry & customer practices)

• Agile Delivery
o Determine framework (dependencies, steps, stakeholder, constraints) for execution
o Works with teams to steer development and delivery of the solution
o Prioritize projects and sprints based on engineering speed and business value
o Adapt solution and approach based on new information, and creatively steer when encountering new challenges or impediments
o Utilize agile method to drive velocity (speed to flow, design and MVP)
• Partnership
o Partners with product manager and business stakeholders to define the roadmap and milestones
o Create a culture of inclusion and collaboration; Proactively share updates

QualificationsBasic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of online product management, ecommerce, or backend systems integration experience
• Previously worked through a cadence and scrum cycle to consistently deliver items to production
• Exceptional oral and written skills, including the ability to explain complex situations, simply
• Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated track record of strong execution and experience partnering with technical teams to deliver results using Agile methodologies
• Front-end web experience within Loyalty & Membership programs
• High level knowledge of the Staples.com and Staples Advantage backend systems
• Customer-centricity with a proven track-record to deliver quality products that meet business goals
• Experience with market research, competitive analysis, usability testing, and A/B testing
• Strong strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills; with the ability to break down complex problems into small, iterative segments
• Proven ability to collaborate broadly with a flexible, positive attitude that recognizes the problem statement and partners with others to determine how to address
• Experience managing and motivating others to get work done
