Our Commission Finance Team is looking to hire a Sr. Business Analyst who will own the maintenance and on-going development of the Variable Compensation System on Anaplan Platform. More specifically, he/she will be tasked with maintaining the current state of the system while partnering with the business to assess areas where the Anaplan may be leveraged to support the Business strategy. Working within the Incentive Strategy and Territory Management team, the individual will leverage Anaplan to support project work as it relates to all facets of the team including Implementation and Analytics. 

The candidate will influence, drive and impact the future of the Staples NAD through ownership and evolving development of the Anaplan platform.

Ideal candidate is analytical and very comfortable working with large quantities of data to produce insightful reporting to help influence business decisions/strategy.
Serve as the architectural SME for all Anaplan Models.
Develop and lead UAT testing and deployment
Act as project lead for all data integrations and migrations related to variable compensation calculation and reporting.
Maintains an up-to date, in-depth knowledge of the Anaplan platform inclusive of all newly released enhancements.
Provides direct input through comprehensive analytics to influence the strategic direction of compensation plans and quota setting.
As experience increases, project workload will also increase and the analyst will be accountable for taking the lead on guiding business decisions related to compensation plan design/analytics. 

Key Job Responsibilities

Impact on Business 
Role will be responsible for Anaplan models and all tasks related to maintenance and continued development to support the changing needs of the business. Traditional analysts focus on the singular task of maintaining the existing system and processes, whereas this role will be asked to also further develop the tool such that it aligns and supports the fast-paced nature of our NAD Sales Strategy.
Tactical aspects include system maintenance, reporting and interfacing directly with the field sales team regarding all aspects of compensation plan administration.
Strategic aspects include keeping up-to-date with the evolving Anaplan platform and making recommendations on how better to utilize the tool in support of current SBA Business objectives

Innovation and Change 
Conduct analytics to proactively monitor plan metrics and draw conclusions on findings.
Develop and implement platform design improvements as needed. 
Once developed, the Analyst will partake in strategic discussions to influence senior management on business decisions surrounding compensation plan development and administration

Communication/Interactions: Internal & External Customers / Suppliers as well as Third Parties  
Internal customer interactions – will interact on a regular basis with the Finance Commissions and Strategy teams. 
Will be responsible for communicating with senior level sales customers (RSDs, RVPs, VPs) updates to Anaplan tool and provide support.
Business Strategy 
Moderate involvement at first, but will need to become a key enabler of short and long term business strategy as level of comfort with the system and business grows.

Education/Experience Equivalent  
Bachelor’s degree in related field (Information Technology, business systems, finance, mathematics, economics, etc.) required
Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in data analytics, supporting technology solutions and architecture and/or sales operations

Professional Certifications / Licenses
Certified Anaplanner/Master Anaplanner

Professional Knowledge/Experience
Experience in Anaplan Platform.
Strong Excel knowledge with the capability to develop complex formulas to identify root causes or data patterns. Access knowledge a strong plus as is experience with Anaplan software
Background in Business Systems/IT, Compensation Plan administration, quota-setting and territory management.
Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and comfortable analyzing large sets of data
Ability to build relationships with business partners and proactively assess needs of the business
Ability to work independently and execute across multiple groups
Experience with cloud-based applications with an emphasis on producing field-facing reporting and dashboards
Other Skills 
High level of curiosity for and a logical approach to problem solving utilizing large data sets.
Development experience in self-service BI tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI
Knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles, and practices
