This position is responsible for leading project initiatives within the Staples NAD Customer Service organization, supporting team members on project initiatives and representing the Voice of the Customer on Enterprise Projects.  Although some projects may have a technology component, this is not a technical project management position.

Utilize standard Project Management methodologies, including traditional and Agile, to drive implementations and change.   Create clear and attainable project objectives, build the project requirements, and manage the triple constraint for projects.  

Lead cross-functional teams including representatives from other business units to solve problems, identify business improvement opportunities, increase customer satisfaction, and improve operations through process improvement methodologies (Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen). 

Create detailed project plans which clearly define project scope and corresponding action items. Drive project requirements, priorities, deadlines, and change adoption, not just record and manage them.  Apply creative thinking to solve problems, remove roadblocks for the project team, and successfully move past unexpected issues.  Utilize the Scrum process for development projects, serving as Scrum Master that encourages self-organizing project teams, provides coaching to project team members, and ensures the correct product is delivered to the end user. 

Interact with internal stakeholders including Customer Service executives to understand their business needs, communicate project status and develop relationships to ensure satisfaction.

Bachelor's Degree required
Project Management certification required (any of the following):
  • CAPM
  • PMP
  • CSM
5+ years of project management experience required
Specialized experience and training in one or more of the following disciplines required:
  • Business Intelligence and reporting projects
  • Web Development projects
  • Lean Six Sigma projects (DMIAC/Kaizen)
  • Business process projects/Projects with no technology component (e.g. new policy rollout, opening new sites, etc.)
  • Agile, Scrum, Kanban 
Advanced financial and business acumen
Outstanding communication skills (excellent verbal & written - presentations to senior management and executives)
Must have a positive and constructive approach when dealing with others and the ability to use influence and organizational dynamics effectively for positive results.
