Job Summary:
The Credit & Collections Business Analyst is responsible for optimizing collections systems and processes through analytics, reporting and metrics based system enhancements. The role requires analysis of customer Accounts Receivable (A/R) attributes, analysis of Get Paid strategies and the re-categorization of accounts based on collections risk grades, collections metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), and management and operational reporting.

Primary Responsibilities: 
• Support Staples and Staples Diversity partners 
• Analyze predictive metrics risk grades, Score Miner data, and A/R reports to align accounts with Web Collect strategies
• Create/modify Web Collect strategies; Create demand-planning tools to ensure that resources are allocated effectively to complete call queues
• Provide management with account collections reports to pinpoint key drivers of % current and past dues
• Develop and publish operational effectiveness metrics
• Develop metrics and reporting to facilitate and drive 72-hour hold notices and 3rd party collections placements
• Develop and publish operational effectiveness metrics
• Other related duties as assigned



• Minimum Associate's or Technical Degree

• Minimum 2 years of related work experience


• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to coordinate with other internal departments to deliver seamless service to customers

• Ability to assess a problem and promptly resolve it or escalate it to a supervisor

• Ability to analyze customers’ needs through soliciting, evaluating, and acting upon data analysis

• Relationship Management

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to identify improvement opportunities and actively engage in implementing improvements

• Ability to positively influence team morale, sense of belonging and participation

• Must be self-motivated, willing to learn, and a team player

• Advanced skills in spreadsheet creation and database maintenance

• Ability to quickly create and manipulate information in Excel utilizing pivot tables, subtotals, and macros

• Ability to convert files to and from different formats (i.e., text files into Excel files, Word data into Excel)
