Position Summary

The Merchandising Web Specialist will be responsible for developing, verifying and approving web promotion roadmaps based on direction from the category selling team. The Specialist will build and maintain all elements surrounding online promotions for Quill.com including:  new item build for component deals & bundles, pricing and price messaging.  They are responsible for the coordination, entry and maintenance of all promotional data into the Quill systems.

This position will work closely with the category selling team to choose promotional items to be included in broad marketing campaigns and category level marketing campaigns.  They will give direction to the Creative and Marketing teams on campaign assets for Quill.com related to these campaigns.  They will assist in analyzing and working with Category Merchant to adjust marketing campaigns and promotions based on results.

The Merchandising Web Specialist is responsible for coordinating and implementing web selling tools (i.e., cross-sell, up-sell, attachments) to optimize margin, share of wallet and average order size.  This includes running reports, analyzing data, making recommendations for improvement to the Category Selling Manager and using system tools to implement those changes. 

This position will work closely with SEO, Merchandising, IS and Creative teams to identify and implement changes to customer experience on Quill.com through search term optimization, new category landing pages, product attribute updates, etc.  They will provide reporting and analysis on the changes, and work with Category Merchant to improve based on results.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Proactively coordinate and execute all web assets throughout all levels of the website, including placement and programming of web assets throughout the websites with input from the category merchant.  Responsible for reviewing accuracy of all assets prior to go-live along with checking offers day of go-live to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate and implement web selling tools to optimize margin, share of wallet and average order size value.  This includes analyzing current data ,making recommendations for improvement and using system tools, implement those changes.  Examples include, but are not limited to: More Buying Options, post-Add to Cart offers, up-sell offers such as warranties & services.
  • The point of contact for Merchandising with all Customer Relations teams. Maintain a positive cross-functional relationship with this team, resolving all questions and issues by working directly with vendors.
  • Daily and weekly monitoring of search results reports to optimize our customer’s shopping experience.  Includes working with SEO and IS teams to execute tests and communicate results & implement search term updates.


Basic Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1 plus years of related experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Word and Excel with proficiency in Access a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks based on fluctuating deadlines while continually meeting deadlines and maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Detail orientated
  • Ability to Analyze data, understand key indicators and make decisions using that data
