DescriptionJob Summary
The Sourcing Manager –will work with the Director of
Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain, Facilities and Print/Marketing Services. This
position will be responsible for assisting in the creation and execution of the
sourcing events for related spend in Supply Chain and Print/Marketing Services
areas. The position will work with staff on-shore and off-shore as appropriate
to complete sourcing projects. The
Sourcing Manager will be responsible for specific project performance and in
collaborate with teammates to achieve the category goals, including annual
sourcing savings targets.
Key Job Responsibilities
Impact on Business
- Support the Director in the
implementation of an annual cost savings program that will directly affect
company’s financial results and growth plans
- Responsible
for achieving savings targets to support department & corporate objectives
- Apply deep supply market
intelligence, vendor performance scorecards and cost benchmarking to manage price
fluctuations and continually improve results and control of spend
- Develop sourcing strategies
(including RFI/RFP, negotiations, etc.) to drive sustainable competitive
advantage and concentrate spend with key suppliers in support of business unit
strategies
- Collaborate with business
stakeholders to achieve savings targets, improve supplier performance, minimize
supply chain risk, maximize supplier collaboration and innovation, etc.
- Support the Director in change
management efforts to continuously increase spend under management and
integrate sourcing into business unit decision making
Innovation and Change
- Utilize strategic sourcing process
to develop and align with key stakeholders on aggressive sourcing solutions
that achieve Staples’ service, cost and volume requirements. Innovative thinking desired to challenge the
status quo and develop enhanced business solutions for Staples.
Communication/Interactions
- In this role, the Manager will
interface and lead discussions with Staples business stakeholders (budget
holders that hold Senior Manager, Director, VP positions within Staples).
Communications with internal stakeholders would include, project goal
alignment, RFQ preparation, Submission analysis assessment, Project close out
docs, etc. External customers would include Vendor Community participants in
the RFQs.

QualificationsEducation/Experience Equivalent
- BS/BA in
Business or Engineering required, MBA preferred
Professional Knowledge/Experience
- Minimum 3
years of relevant experience
- Excellent
financial acumen and analytical skills
- Strong
interpersonal skills across functional areas
- Outstanding
oral and written communication skills
- Proven
ability to work in a fast-paced environment
